My Story
Hi, I am Mariyana — the heart and hands behind Cakes and Bakes by
MaryAnna. Baking has been part of my life for as long as I can
remember. As a child, I was always drawn to the magic of flour,
sugar, and a warm oven — it started as a hobby, experimenting in
the kitchen and trying to recreate the cakes I’d seen in books and
bakeries. Years later, that childhood love blossomed into
something more meaningful. I began baking cakes and cupcakes for
my own children’s birthdays, then for family gatherings and
friends’ celebrations.
What began as a sweet way to spread love quickly turned into a
calling. Driven by my growing passion and desire to improve my
craft, I earned a Baking and Pastry Certificate from Delaware
County Community College. That formal training, paired with years
of hands-on experience, gave me the skills and confidence to take
the next step.
Today, I proudly run Cakes and Bakes by MaryAnna, a fully licensed
Delaware Cottage Food Establishment. Every cake, cookie, and
cupcake is made from scratch with care, creativity, and a whole
lot of love. Whether it’s a whimsical birthday cake or elegant
wedding dessert, I believe every sweet treat should tell a story —
just like mine.
